Pet Portraits
From your photograph, I will capture the essence and personality of your pet in a custom portrait that you'll cherish forever. My standard pet portrait is 8 inches by 10 inches, of a single animal with no background in pencil or pastel.
I have created some useful tips here to help take the best photo so I can create a portrait that will reflect the love and companionship you share with your furry friend.
My pet portraits are predominantly created in coloured pencil or pastel from Faber Castell. These beautifully rich and vibrant pencils give excellent results in colour laydown and blending. They also blend beautifully with the additional pencils I use from the Caran D'Ache, Cretacolour and Derwent ranges. If I work in paint medium, I only use artist quality Winsor and Newton paints.
About me
I live and work in beautiful West Dorset, with my family, our adorable Border Terrier, cat and guinea pigs.
I have been drawing and painting for many years, mainly self taught. I find something new to learn with every painting or print I create but particularly with animals which is what makes pet portraiture so interesting to me.

Portrait costs
A standard portrait, is a single animal with no background in Faber Castel pencils on archival paper, usually Polychromos coloured pencil on Fabriano Artistico. If I use alternative pencils or paper, they will be archival and of artist's quality, being lightfast and highly pigmented.
Size will be an aperture size of 10" x 8" (20.3 x 25.4cm) mounted onto a backing mountboard of 12" x 10" (30 x 25cm)
A standard portrait will cost £90 plus postage and packing. Artwork will be sent Royal Mail Next Day special Delivery.
Other options are available such as combining different photos into a group, adding backgrounds etc. Please discuss your requirements with me as costs will vary. I can also offer framing at extra cost.
Gift Certificates
If time is of the essence, I offer a Gift Certificate option so you can purchase a portrait for someone, but they supply the photograph.
The cost of a Standard pet portrait gift certificate is £110. This includes a standard pet portait with postage and packing to the recipient and the gift certificate sent to yourself by Royal Mail signed for delivery. I will also send a scanned copy of the finished portrait to you.
